Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the acclaimed actor, has revealed the much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming ZEE5 original film Haddi on Wednesday. This crime drama, starring Anurag Kashyap as well, delves into the criminal underbelly that operates within the modern ruins of Delhi NCR, encompassing Gurgaon and Noida. Notably, the trailer introduces Nawazuddin in the groundbreaking role of a transgender, marking his first portrayal of such a character onscreen.

The “Haddi” trailer sets the stage with a glimpse of Nawazuddin as Haddi, a fierce transgender who transforms into a vengeful criminal. He cryptically declares, “People fear us for a reason. Our blessings hold power, and our curses are fearsome. And do you know what’s even more terrifying? Our revenge.” The preview follows his journey from being an inexperienced transgender who survives by committing minor crimes to relocating from Allahabad to Delhi to join a transgender community.

As the story unfolds, Haddi ascends to the apex of the criminal hierarchy, all the while nursing a vendetta on behalf of his transgender family, led by Ila Arun. This family has suffered at the hands of a potent combination of a gangster-politician, portrayed by Anurag Kashyap. The film also features Ila Arun, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma, and Saharsh Shukla.

Fans have been quick to react to the “Haddi” trailer. Nawazuddin shared it on Instagram, captioning it with anticipation of the chilling revenge tale. Directed and co-written by Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla, “Haddi” is a collaboration between Zee Studios and Anandita Studios, presenting a gripping narrative of crime and vengeance. The film is set to premiere on September 7.

Nawazuddin, in preparation for his role in “Haddi,” immersed himself in the transgender community, aiming to understand their perspectives and experiences. He noted that they often identify with females and strive for a sense of completeness through that identity. This insight greatly influenced his portrayal, which he described as mentally and physically demanding. The release of “Haddi” is anticipated to bring Nawazuddin’s transformative performance to the forefront of cinematic conversations.
