A tragic incident occurred in Nepal Bus Accident in Bagmati province, where a passenger bus veered off the main highway and plunged into a swollen river. As per media reports, at least eight individuals lost their lives, and around 15 others sustained injuries in the mishap. The accident took place near Chalise in Dhading district when the bus, en route from Kathmandu to Pokhara, lost control and fell into the Trishuli River.

Rescue Amid River Tragedy:

Deputy Superintendent of Police Santulal Prasad Jaiswar from the District Police Office, Dhading, stated that the casualty count might rise, and rescue efforts were ongoing. Although the bus was partly submerged in the Trishuli River after the incident, rescuers managed to extract numerous passengers from the wreckage.

The swollen river resulted from persistent monsoon rainfall. Highway accidents in Nepal, often attributed to subpar vehicle maintenance and road conditions exacerbated by mountainous terrain, highlight safety concerns.
