Asia Cup 2023: Venkatesh Prasad slams Javed Miandad’s “India can go to hell” Remark
Asia Cup 2023 crisis: Javed Miandad gets brutally trolled for “India can go to hell” remark; Venkatesh Prasad too hits back
You can always trust Venkatesh Prasad to slam Pakistani players anytime for their bad manners, be it Aamir Sohail in the World Cup quarterfinal in Bengaluru in 1996 or recent Javed Miandad’s shocking remarks on India for the 2023 Asia Cup saga. For the 2023 Asia Cup, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of Asian Cricket Council (ACC), last year, had said that Team India won’t travel to Pakistan, for which former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad made the ugliest controversial remark on the Men In Blue cricket team.
“Me toh pehle bhi kaha tha, nahi aaye to bhaad mein jaaye, hamein koi fark nahi padta, hame hamari cricket mil rahi hai. Ye ICC (International Cricket Council) ka kaam hai, ye cheez agar ICC control nahi kar sakti, toh fir governing body ka koi kaam nahi hai. (Roughly translated) – (I have always been saying, we don’t care if India doesn’t come. We are getting our cricket.
It’s ICC’s job to control such things, else there’s no point of having a governing body)”, Miandad said in a video on YouTube. “ICC should have one rule for every country. If such teams don’t come, no matter how strong they are, you should remove them”, Miandad added.

Top officials from Pakistan Cricket Board too said that if India doesn’t come, then it can impact Pakistan’s decision to travel to India for the ODI World Cup later this year. In this context, Miandad also said that they (India) aren’t willing to come as they are afraid of the Public’s extreme behaviour, if they go on to lose in Pakistan.
“Aa ke khelo, khelte kyun nahi hai. Bhagte hain, unki museebat ho jaati hai bhagte hai (They should play, why aren’t they playing? They are afraid of consequences),” he asserted.

Venkatesh who is the former Indian pacer did not take this remark lightly and gave an epic one-word fiery response. “But they are refusing to go to hell,” said the former Indian pacer in the viral tweet. Not only this, Venkatesh Prasad’s tweet went viral with netizens taking to social media giant Twitter to brutally troll Miandad.

RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN TOO SHUTS DOWN JAVED MIANDAD
Following the ugly comments of Miandad, Indian veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also came forward to crush his comments and spoke about the matter. “But we would have seen this happen many times, right? When we say the Asia Cup won’t go to their place, they will say that they will also not come to our place,” he said on his YouTube channel.
WILL PAKISTAN HOST ASIA CUP 2023?
A decision about hosting Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan has been delayed till March, with the new information that has come to light about United Arab Emirates (UAE), likely to be the new venue. However, Pakistan has threatened to boycott the 2023 ODI World Cup in India if the Indian team does not travel to Pakistan for the continental showpiece event.
The recent meeting between Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of Asian Cricket Council (ACC), and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi in Bahrain did not really throw up any solution. Although almost everyone is concerned and certain that the tournament venue will change, however, no official statement has come out yet.

The hosting of the Asia Cup 2023 has been a much-heated discussion in recent weeks and now the long debate will be finally over, supposedly in March, when the final decision on the matter will be released. Teams like New Zealand, Australia, and even England have toured the country over the last year and played Test cricket.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants cricketing ties with the Indian team to resume like it was used to, however, the BCCI seems to be reluctant about this thing. PCB chairman, Najam Sethi has reportedly told Jay Shah (BCCI secretary) that his country wants to host the Asia Cup and if in any case, the tournament is moved out, Pakistan will not send its team to India for the men’s ODI World Cup.
PCB chairman Sethi’s comments are on the same lines as his predecessor Ramiz Raja, who also reiterated that Pakistan could boycott the 50-over World Cup in India this year if the Asia Cup issue between the two cricket boards wasn’t resolved.
