Jammu Kashmir Blast: Two blasts jolted Jammu amid Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra

Jammu Kashmir Blast : The area has been closed off, and security has been increased. As part of a search operation, vehicles are being inspected.


7 people were injured in Jammu Kashmir blast. Two explosions took place within 15 minutes today on Saturday.

Five people were injured in the first blast, which occurred at around 11 am.

The second explosion, which occurred after nearly half an hour, injured two people.

Suhail Iqbal (35), Sushil Kumar (26), Vishav Pratap (25), Vinod Kumar (52), Arun Kumar, Amit Kumar (40), and Rajesh Kumar (35) were among those injured in the explosions.

However, according to the hospital sources, all admitted seven patients with splinter injuries are “stable.”

The blasts, in Narwal’s transport yard, were allegedly set off by terrorists when the region’s security services were on high alert due to the Congress party’s ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra and the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

The IED blasts resembled the Udhampur blast, according to reports, and Lashkar-e-Taiba seems to be the organization responsible for them.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called for quick action to find the culprits and punish them.

“Such dastardly acts highlight the desperation and cowardice of those responsible. Take immediate and firm action. No efforts should be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Lt Governor told security officials.

The Lt. Governor has additionally granted Rs. 50,000 in compensation for those injured in the incident.

An official stated that the area was blocked off, and a search operation began after the initial explosion, which happened at around 11 am.

An eyewitness named Jaswinder Singh reported that the initial explosion occurred in a car getting repaired at a workshop.

According to Singh, chief of the Motor Spare Parts Association, a second explosion fifteen minutes later left the nearby area covered in debris and damaged parts.

Following the two explosions, the area has been closed off, and security has been increased. As part of a search operation, vehicles are being inspected.

The Jammu and Kashmir leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra began yesterday and is scheduled to end in Srinagar on January 30. For those participating in the march, today is a day of rest; the rally will resume tomorrow towards Jammu
