NASA stamped the credibility of Hindu Calendar Panchang

A claim is going viral across social media alleging that the US space agency NASA has accepted that credible information regarding solar eclipses can only be obtained from the Hindu calendar Panchang.

The viral claim is misleading. A NASA website dedicated to the Solar System, briefly noting how scientists predict solar eclipses. Apart from it, The ‘The Fauxy’ website, which publishes fictitious information passing it off as news for satirical and entertainment purposes. The write-up titled, ‘NASA Scientist Confesses Using Hindu Calendar ‘Panchaang’ To Accurately Forecast Eclipses and Other Astronomical Events’ was published on 26 June 2021.

AAP took Credit of Punjab based government school teacher

An image of a primary school classroom is going viral on social media. In the viral image, school children can be seen sitting in a smart classroom equipped with a conference table, projector, air conditioner, etc. Several Aam Aadmi Party leaders shared this image, portraying a change in the education sector in Punjab after AAP came into power.

The viral claim is false. According to the Dainik Jagran report, Jagtar Singh Manela, a teacher at Government Primary Smart School, f Punjab transformed the school in 2015. At that time, the condition of the school was terrible, and the school’s land was in the possession of other people. Later, with his hard work and donation, Jagtar Singh transformed the primary school into a smart school. He went door-to-door asking for donations and sought help from social organizations in the area, village panchayats, and NRIs. Everyone supported Jagtar Singh, and in nine months, a new school was built and equipped with smart classes and technology.

Andhra Pradesh bans jeans and T-shirts in colleges!

Several news media outlets recently reported that the Director of Medical Education in Andhra Pradesh has prohibited wearing jeans and T-shirts in medical colleges.

The viral is false. The Andhra Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education website did not have any notifications concerning dress codes. A tweet by the Andhra Pradesh government’s Fact Check wing in which they denied the viral claim. According to it, no such orders have been issued for Medical Students, and the news spreading is not official.

Unfair practices adopted in Gujarat Assembly Elections  

A video of alleged vote rigging at a polling booth has gone viral on social media. In the viral video, a man can be seen casting votes continuously on the EVM machine in front of the officials. While sharing this video, people on social media claimed that votes were cast unlawfully in Surat’s Varachha district during the ongoing Gujarat assembly elections.

The viral claim is false. The viral video is almost 9 months old and was shot during the West Bengal municipal election. According to the report, the viral incident took place in ward No. 33 of South Dum Dum Municipality, where a polling agent pressed the EVM button after stopping the voters to cast their votes themselves. The incident occurred in front of the presiding officer, who was present inside the polling booth.
