The V Renaissance: An Art That Bespokes You
“Her whole being dilated in an atmosphere of luxury. It was the background she required, the only climate she could breathe in.”
– Edith Wharton, The House of Mirth
Started with an idea of creating what one can’t find for themselves, ‘The V Renaissance’, is the right place for those who do not want to settle for something common, but want exclusivity in everything that they own, no matter what the price is. Harsheen, Vipul Amar and their team, has brought out the concept of ‘The V Renaissance’ that enables one to own, or in their words, bespoke one’s belongings. And to know more about ‘The V Renaissance’, A. Kameshwari from One World News, caught up Vipul Amar and Harsheen Kaur in an exclusive conversation.
The V-Renaissance is a bespoke luxury brand that designs every product exclusively as per the customer’s requirement, understanding their personality. Whatever they make, there is a vision of the customer behind it. They create a level of personalisation that one can’t even imagine, and deal only in leather Jackets, travel bags, diaries, furniture’s and desk tools.
Apart from this, one can also find scarves, pocket squares, and a different line of art altogether, where they understand one’s true self and portray it through photographic artwork. They also provide ready-to-buy products, but like to deal mostly with bespoke.
The idea of ‘The V Renaissance’ came to Harsheen and Vipul through their project, ‘Stupid Eye’, which has brought psychology and photography together. “In ‘Stupid Eye’ we used the process of photographing one’s ideal self as a technique to delve deeper into the human psyche and bring out the real personality. So, we are just creating luxurious brands with emotions that can be passed on from generation to generation.” says Harsheen, a psychologist.
They believe when things are personal, one tends to get attached with it, and it is always a treasure to have something specifically made just for you.
Harsheen explained to us, that she hasn’t switched her profession, but also practising as a psychologist through art as well. “I have a clinic and I see my patients regularly. I am psychologist even here. I and Vipul started working under VASPA (Vipul Amar Studio of Photography), where, when we are shooting we understand people and aim to bring out reality and capture it. From there, Stupid eye came into picture, which is now a published research and a therapeutic base. We also have an exhibition coming up for Stupid Eye. The V Renaissance is luxurious extension of Stupid Eye for people out there who have their own strong choices and preferences but can’t find it.”
Vipul Amar says that their customers are someone who have a mind of their own, passionate about what they buy, do not follow the crowd and do not bargain for prices, “We buy our material from the best people in the industry. Our view for products is, that they should be valued, price-less, cherished, and customer should be happy for having a genuinely distinctive product. With our products the price doesn’t matter, because we give you something more than just a product, that is, emotions and self-realization, so that, when you see the picture, you are right away connected to the thought process behind it or the moment it was created in.”
The making of any product follows a process, in which Harsheen is in a constant conversation with the customer, and makes them travel the journey of their life, and this journey connects them to their inner self. “We spend time with the person who wants us to create anything for them. It can be one day or a week, but till we don’t get the peak of emotion we cannot create picture.” says Vipul Amar.
The scarfs and pocket squares are hemmed by hands, and the frames can be bespoke too. Frames are made with 100% teak wood, which is weather proof and are designed in a way that canvas have enough space to breathe, due to which they last longer.
The design pattern on scarfs and pocket squares are photographs too. Every product has a story behind it; it’s either about the one who is getting it made or about someone or something close to that person. One even has the option to preserve the scarf, “We will frame it for anyone in a way that it can be worn any time they want. When we design a picture for any product, there is an artwork involved in it. There is subtle hint about the person, or someone or something he or she is close to, or it can even be about the person’s personality.” says Harsheen.
So, for all those who want to know their inner self, want to inherit something they can cherish life long and pass it on to their next generation and create a style statement, ‘The V Renaissance’ is the just the place.
