During the show, the responses of the business tycoons (a.k.a Sharks) to business ideas has started a meme fest by netizens and Desi comedians and it has been trending on Twitter and other online platforms since the release of Shark Tank India.
Interestingly, the show has encouraged women, entrepreneurs, and one of the most viewed videos is the one titled ‘Women Taking Charge’ with over 4 million views on YouTube.
The show and the sharks featuring Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Ghazal Alagh, Namita Thapar, Peyush Bansal, and Vineeta Singh received an extremely positive response from the viewers.
Let’s take a look back at some of the best moments from the genius casting of the show Shark Tank India SONY TV, that transformed into hilarious memes:
SHARK ASHNEER HATES ‘DOGALAPAN’
Ashneer has made a reputation of being rude and straightforward in the show which many viewers obviously didn’t like and even probably hated but there were many who actually loved his attitude. However, watching someone being rude on a show is the actual reason why people stick to reality shows.
In the show, BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover made his reputation as the high-and-mighty and dominating one of the season one. His one-liner ‘Yeh sab dogalapan hai (All this is hypocrisy) became famous and was the first meme to go viral in the first week of January and became one of the most downloaded meme templates.

EGO CLASHES TO WOO CONTESTANT
There was also a case when Anupam Mittal, CEO and founder of Shaadi.com got hurt over something that Grover had said while trying to woo a contestant into choosing his offer over Anupam’s.
Ashneer while trying to approach the contestant said, “Isne ek brand banaya, maine do brand banaye. Maine BharatPe bhi banaya, maine PostPe bhi banaya, pehle maine Grofers bhi banaya, toh brand ki toh baat mat karo mere se. (Well he had built just one brand, but I have built BharatPe, PostPe and before that, I built Grofers. So, at least don’t try to teach me how these things work and how to build a brand),” for which once Aman Gupta said “Hum bhi bana lenge” which also grabbed many attentions and the meme went viral.
Apart from these, “Expertise nahi hai” (Thapar), and “Mai aapko sharminda nahi karna chahta” (Mittal) are the other popular and the best templates on the website that went viral on every social media platform.
However, Mittal said that that his (Grover) act did not ruin his relationship with him, whom he called ‘one of (his) favourites’ on the show Shark Tank.

SHARK NAMITA AND HER EXPERTISE
You may already know this that Namita Thapar who is the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals is the polar opposite of Ashneer in her reactions to the pitchers. It has been seen that whenever she is not interested in a business, she is promptly out by making her one thing clear that she doesn’t have the ‘expertise’ in that particular area or business, so she is out. And by her emphasis on expertise has made her even more popular and favourite.

Dairy giant Amul also too took a sly dig on Shark Tank India’s Ashneer’s dialogues and created a photo of Ashneer and a fellow shark Namita Thapar saying, “Yeh Sabko Digest Hota Hai. 100 percent equity on taste.”
SHARK ANUPAM WAS OFTEN INTERRUPTED
Anupam Mittal co-founder and CEO of Shaadi.com loves to talk which was evident on the show but the other sharks never let him. The other sharks always loved to contradict and interrupt him whenever he wanted to speak. There were many times when Anupam found himself being rudely interrupted by another shark and where all he said was, “Yaar baat to karne do (At least let me talk) which also became an addition to the meme templates.
Not only this, many sharks have received huge compliments like Peyush is very humble, and Namita is very understanding, Vineeta is hilarious, Ghazal Alagh is sweetest, Aman and Anupam’s banter is a highlight.
RANNVIJAY WITH UPGRAD COURSES
Apart from the 7 sharks, the host in the show’s entire season was actor-cum-anchor Rannvijay Singha who was also the conduit between the sharks and the pitchers. He was often seen gifting UpGrad courses as part of sponsor tie-ins to the pitchers after they would get their deals and exit the pitch room. The hilarious act also found a place at meme template.

DESI DRAMA WITH TENSE CONVERSATIONS
Many people while trying to understand Shark Tank India’s success had one common answer and that was, the drama that went on every single day on the show along with dramatic dialogues and tense conversations between the sharks and even with the contestants.
Whether it was frequently bickering, healthy sledging, and even destroying the pitchers’ idea vigorously or discourteously, the Sharks never hesitated to say what they wanted to say on the show to anyone for that matter as many memes emerged from Shark Tank India came from a lot of disagreements even between the Sharks.
HOW COMEDIANS & POLITICIANS EMBRACED SHARKS
Comedian Rohan Joshi did a YouTube live video with Shark Tank India’s Gupta and Thapar, which crossed 1.3 million views. During the hour-long conversation, the gang scrolled through some of the popular memes which went viral on social media.
Actress and comedian Mallika Dua also shared a 90-second mimicry of Thapar and reposted it on her profile which has got her over 300,000 views whereas Rohan Joshi’s meme on the sharks received over 400,000 views.
As per IndianMemeTemplates, which has one of the largest databases of Indian memes, Shark Tank India meme templates were downloaded over 60,000 times from the website in January alone.
Even political parties like AAP (Aam Aadmi Party’s) couldn’t resist and celebrated the popular meme culture by embracing Shark Tank India. They took a jibe against rival Congress and used controversial shark Ashneer Grover’s “wahiyad product” to describe the Congress party on February 13 as a superimposed Channi stands before him. “Punjab Voters describing 5 years of Congress rule,” the caption says.
Two days later, a second meme also showed superimposed Arvind Kejriwal’s face on another shark boAt’s Aman Gupta.
“Indians: We want World-class Education, Quality Healthcare, 24×7 Free Bijli, etc,” the caption read.
“Haan main de dunga. Aap tension mat lo,” Kejriwal-Gupta says.
