Kamla Bhasin passes away leaving a legacy behind that will be cherished forever!
The highlight of the week remained the demise of a feminist, poet, Social activist, Kamla Bhasin. She passed away on 25 September 2021 after battling cancer. Apart from her, there were other prominent women who made headlines last week. Let us take a look.
1. Sneha Dubey
Sneha Dubey made headlines for her fiery response to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the UN. She is a 2012 batch IFS and a Junior Diplomat. Notably, she was applauded for her statement in India. Her befitting reply at the UN was loved and appreciated by the Indians on social media. Check her response below:

She was in news again for denying an interview with Anjana Om Kashyap. Notably, the anchor entered her office and tried to interview Sneha Dubey but she denied it. The viral video became the talk of the town. Netizens are raising questions on Journalism and its boundaries.

2. Kamla Bhasin
Noted writer, feminist, social activist Kamla Bhasin passed away on Saturday morning. The news of her demise was shared by her friend Kavita Srivastava on Twitter. Her demise marked the end of an era. Kamla Bhasin was one of the pioneers of the women’s movement in not only India but also in South Asia. Kamla Bhasin’s warmth and work touched many lives and her legacy will be cherished forever. At the age of 75, she passed away after battling cancer. Of course, her death came as a shock for everyone as she was the stalwart of women’s rights. But her teachings and work on gender equality will many generations.

3. Shehnaaz Gill
The poster of Honsla Rakh was released on Sunday and on Monday, the trailer of the same was released. The Honsla Rakh trailer is getting a lot of love from the audience. The trailer has made fans emotional. After watching Shehnaaz Gill in the trailer fans said – “Aaj Khush Honge Sidharth”. The film will also star Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles.

4. Alia Bhatt Kanyadaan Ad Controversy
Recently, Alia Bhatt appeared on the Manyavar Ad which questioned the old age Hindu tradition of Kanyadaan. As soon as the ad was released, it started trending on social media. Notably, the advertisement received a lot of backlash and many criticized it as they believe it is demeaning the Hindu ritual of Kanyadaan. In the past few years, we have seen how advertisements were taken down after uproar on social media.
