IPL 2020 players: Does the list consist of some big names of International Cricket who hasn’t been able to make an impact in IPL so far?
As we move into the year2020, an exciting year awaits for Cricket fans. For Indian fans, two mega-events are waiting for them which will make them leave from work early and stick to their Television sets. ICC T20 World Cup and Indian Premier League will bring great joy for cricket fans in India. IPL brings a competitive cricket of elite-level in which the finest cricketers from across the world take part. However, there are many famous International Cricketers who haven’t been able to make a mark in the Indian Premier League so far. In this article, we will look at the top 5 international players to look out in IPL 2020 who didn’t do well earlier.
1. Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins will enter in IPL after a gap of two years as the most expensive International player in the IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders spent whooping 15.5 crores for the Australian pacer. Pat Cummins is going through the purple patch of his career. He is currently the World number one bowler in Test Cricket. He started his career in IPL with KKR in 2014 and played his last IPL match for Delhi Daredevils in 2017. The Australian pacer will be a good fit for his franchise on the new pace-friendly pitch of Eden Gardens.
2. Sam Curran
The young all-rounder from England is one of the finest talents in world cricket today. He put up a decent performance for Kings Eleven Punjab last year but it wasn’t enough for Punjab to retain him. Chennai roped in Sam Curran for his swing bowling and effective batting. He could be a productive asset for MS Dhoni’s Superkings on the gripping pitch of Chennai. Recently, he has done well for England in both red and white-ball cricket.

3. Shimron Hetmyer
Shimron Hetmyer is seen as the future of the West Indies team which is trying to regain the power it possessed one time in International Cricket. This left-handed batsman can easily clear any ground with ease against both the spinners and the pace-bowlers. Recently, he bamboozled Indian bowlers in T20 and ODI series at their home. He will play for Delhi Capitals which has a strong middle order with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Risabh Pant, Alex Carey and Marcus Stoinis.
4. Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stonis is a handy all-rounder who could be very lethal with bat and ball as well. Previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings Eleven Punjab, he hasn’t been able to perform according to his stature. He is in great form currently and has scored lots of runs in Big Bash 2020 for Melbourne Stars. He will play for a strong Delhi Capitals team which already has big stars in it.
5. Eoin Morgan
Eoin Morgan led England to ICC World Cup 2019 win and also played an amazing innings where he hit record 17 sixes against Afghanistan. Eoin Morgan comes back to Kolkata Knight Riders to fill the team with leadership experience and a strong middle-order. However, with International stars like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Tom Banton, Lockie Ferguson, Harry Gurney, it would be difficult for Kolkata Knight Riders management to find a place for him.
