IFF raises voice against Gujarat High Court on PUBG ban matter

PUBG is one of the most popular mobile games in India currently

PUBG Mobile game is massively popular amongst the youth. The royal battle game has been banned in some cities. PUBG Mobile game seems to have no bar these days as the online multiplayer battle royale game has become a sensation all over the world. Rajkot was among the first few districts in the state to impose a ban and arrest people. Most of the arrested people were college students who were booked against playing the game despite the ban.

IFF is fighting against the ban

The internet freedom foundation (IFF) is an organization for fighting for online freedom, dealing with privacy cases and free expression. Authorities banned PUBG Mobile game in some cities of Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and Himmatnagar. Police have arrested 21 people in which 13 are young college students. IFF organization is fighting for the people who were arrested and the ban against the popular game.

PUBG ban violates article 14,19 and 21 of Indian Constitution

IFF challenged High court over the decision on banning PUBG game. They said it violates Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the constitution.

The company said that it was surprising on hearing of PUBG ban in Gujarat. And also said that we are working to understand the legal basis of such bans, and hope we can have a constructive dialogue with relevant authorities to explain our objectives and that they withdraw the prohibition. After the PUBG ban, the gaming company introduced a feature where below eighteen years of age kids couldn’t play for more than 4 hours in a day and above 18 couldn’t play for more than 6 hours.
